Crazy Giveaway

  • *****UPDATE*** contest is closed and the names are in the random selector. Which actually means that since there were only 5, I wrote them down on pieces of paper and one of my kids will draw it out of a hat in the morning. I looked at random.org like the big-wig bloggers use and I am sorry, they wanted me to pay $4.95 for their services and well, I am a good Dutch girl (read: cheap) and while I am generous and will buy a book, I will not spend 5 bucks for a name drawing! Perhaps if I had 500 entries, yes, totally worth it. But, for 5 people, I think I can handle it. Anyway! Thanks for entering and leaving your comments!!!
So it is raining, I haven't come up with much to say, and I love to shop. So, this is where that will get you! As I have mentioned before, I love the book Crazy Love by Francis Chan. To make you understand just how much good I love, I am going to GIVE a copy of it away! "How do I get my hands on this?" you ask. Well, let me tell you!
  • All you have to do is leave a comment in the comment section telling me what you like to do on a rainy day. Could be the rain that has been falling since last Thursday, but that's all I can come up with.
  • If you have never commented and only lurked here, now's the time to make yourself known!! All you have to do is type in your comment, fill out the scramble word, sign in as "anonymous" and wha-la! You have left a comment. (don't forget to sign your name in with your comment though so I know who you are.)
  • One more catch, I need at least 5 comments for the contest to count! That's right, I went there! So, tell your friends, leave a comment about what you like to do on a rainy day, and sit back and wait for me to figure out the random selector thing!
  • Enter by Wednesday at 9pm CST.
  • one entry per person! ;) thought I'd forget didn't you!
  • Winners will be announced Wed night or Thursday night... or whenever I get to it. I will post them and then you can email me your address so I can send it off to you!

Good luck!

Woo Hoo!! I LOVE the chance to win a book...especially this book!

On a rainy day, I love to open the doors (assuming the rain isn't flying sideways, of course), light a few candles, turn on a muted lamp, grab a great book and curl up in my favorite blanket on the couch. I will read until those moments when the rain causes the storm to sound amazingly loud...and then I lower the pages to my chest, put my head back and smile...at the sound, the smell and the majesty of Him who is the keeper of the drops.

Thanks for this chance...much love today, my Blogdie.

On a rainy day... well, I like to close my eyes and listen... and for the year I engaged in daily outdoor solitude, I liked to lie down under the pine tree and let the rain come through as it would... like mist, like tears, like a crystal gift.

Rain? This is southern California!! haha! We don't get a lot of rain but when we DO get rain, it seems to come down in bucketfulls. I have skylights in home so when it rains I like to sit in the house and hear the rain hit the skylights. Maybe because we don't get a lot of it but it is like God opening up the skies and giving us some of His greatness. I wonder in the time of the storm if He we will also grace us with lightning!

Hope you are not getting too rained out.

My Ideal Rainy Day..... I would love to go outside and splash around with my girls. Trying to find the biggest and wettest puddles. We'd get completely drenched and laugh and play. then, we'd go home and take hot baths, make a spaghetti dinner and hot cocoa, coffee for me. After dinner, we'd snuggle on the couch together, all three of us under one big blanket and listen to the pouring rain. It would be a bonus if it was accompanied by thunder an lightening. I would remind the girls that the hard rain is like trials in our life, that even though they seem to never end, the SON shines again, and all of God's glory is revealed. yum, a slice of Heaven!

Woo-hoo! Contests counts now! :) Rainy day...yes, it is incredibly went and cold here. Well, I like to stay home, bake, maybe nap, would love to scrapbook, but since I have kids home yet that doesn't work so well! We play games and build blanket forts!
Yes, I'm a blog stalker-but you already knew that!
Love ya,
